In his latest single “Oh No!,” Jaden Dixon, also known as ‘The Suit & Tie Guy’, proclaims he thinks he “did it again,” — I can attest, he did. Through his beats, lyrics, and infectious energy, the Polk County native embodies the definition of a true hustler and creative that will inspire any dreamer to pursue their aspirations. As a young kid in Davenport, FL, Jaden taught himself how to play improvisational and classic music on the piano and he’s been making music and making moves ever since.
A musician, wall-street banker, and philosopher–Jaden is the embodiment of a modern renaissance man. His 2019 breakout single “Fur Elise,” which has amassed over 65K streams on Spotify alone, is the perfect trifecta of his three different–yet conjoined–identities. Fur Elise, which merges the classical Beethoven tune with today’s Hip-hop rhythm, is the epitome of Jaden’s essence and aptitude as an artist. Beyond Jaden’s ability to make anyone get up and dance, the most impactful aspect of his music is the message he shares with his audience. I still remember when I first heard Jaden’s song “Testing Me,” I immediately shared it with a best friend, who like Jaden and myself, is also a minority that grew up in Florida but left to chase his goals.
“What all of y’all don’t know is this is only the beginning/ And I’m just trying to make it, leave my whole family grinning/ Already made it out of Polk, now I’m pushing my limit.” Each verse on “Testing Me,” provides a sense of familiarity to anyone who knows the sacrifices and risks one must take to change the course of one’s life. Jaden’s motto is that #NothingCanStopYou and his music continuously encourages and reminds listeners to never forget that.
Now go out there, run up “Oh No!” and like Jaden says if anyone around you is ‘moving in slo-mo’, you know it’s time to ‘run fast’ and make some changes.
